We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Health & Safety - Infrastructure Delivery and Energy Solutions to join our PSC team in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne office on a permanent full-time basis. 

Reporting to the General Manager HSEH, you will lead a team of 6 Health & Safety Business Partners, embedding consistent health and safety systems, governance, and contractor partnering practices across APA’s APA. 

This is a highly impactful leadership role focused on portfolio-level oversight, coaching, strategic guidance, and early risk identification across projects, new initiatives, and Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) activities. By strengthening governance, setting clear expectations, and enabling your team to deliver effective business partnering support, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring APA’s safe and successful project delivery. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Business Partners, fostering capability uplift and consistent delivery of Health & Safety outcomes. 

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and presence to executives and senior leaders, supporting them in meeting WHS due diligence obligations. 

  • Embed and oversee the contractor partnering framework, including governance, prequalification, selection, assurance, and exit processes. 

  • Ensure effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of APA’s Health & Safety strategy and management systems. 

  • Drive proactive risk identification and assurance, including oversight of investigations, reporting, audits, and lessons learned. 

  • Provide Health & Safety input to projects, M&A due diligence, and business integration to ensure safe outcomes from day one. 

About You 

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or significant relevant experience in health, safety, or related disciplines. 

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of Health & Safety professionals in mid-to-large organisations. 

  • Strong expertise in developing and embedding strategies, systems, and governance frameworks. 

  • Demonstrated success in contractor management and partnering, with the ability to influence across diverse stakeholders. 

  • Track record in delivering continuous improvement initiatives and driving cultural change in safety. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence executives and senior leaders.
