We’re looking for a Dental Assistant II, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position you will provide dental assistance in the patient care area in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-18 years) and adults as necessary.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists dentist during examination and treatment of children (and adults as necessary).
  • Application of sealants, monitoring of nitrous, coronal polishing and application of fluoride.
  • Sterilizes and disinfects instruments not sent to Central Sterilization and Processing, cleans dental carts and sets up instrument trays daily according to guidelines established by the hospital.
  • Prepares materials and assists dentist during dental procedures on children (and adults as necessary) daily.
  • Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of children (and adults as necessary).
  • Takes and exposes dental x-rays on children (and adults as necessary) as ordered by dentist.
  • Provides post-operative instructions to parents/patients that are provided by the dentist.
  • Transports medications as requested, excluding controlled substances, following established medication security guidelines.
  • Performs other job-related functions.
  • Performs clerical and receptionist duties.

 

Skills & Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • RDA - Registered Dental Assistant by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners required
  • BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association required
  • NOM CERT - Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Cert by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners required
  • 2 years' experience in a health care setting required
