Qualifications | Who We’re Looking For
Are you an undergraduate Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior student majoring in Agriculture, Business, or a related field? Do you have previous experience in agriculture, production, research, or farming? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A solid understanding of key agricultural concepts
- Proficiency in using computers for data collection and inventory management
- Experience with instruments used to measure and record data
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures
Please note that this internship involves both indoor and outdoor work. You will spend part of your time working indoors in a warehouse environment, with the remainder of the internship conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities | The Production Intern will assist with the production of high-quality seed corn by executing a variety of tasks based on field operations, bulk seed processing, warehousing, and distribution needs.
- Schedule and dispatch vehicles for seed returns.
- Set up and maintain packaging supplies (tags, bagger, FastFill containers).
- Re-bag returned seed, including labeling, tagging, and palletizing.
- Organize and manage inventory of bulk and bagged seed using an electronic system.
- Collect seed samples for quality assurance.
- Maintain positive relations with growers, contractors, and inspectors.
- Conduct field inspections for quality checks.
