Job Profile: Senior Accountant

Role Purpose:  

 

This role supports the financial accounting activities for the British Council to ensure the financial accounts are completed correctly and in a timely manner, and numbers are reported accurately. The role holder will l be responsible to process customer transactions and income collection accurately and in a timely manner and complete daily reconciliations as per the agreed process.


Main accountabilities

 

  • The role holder is also required to perform the financial accounting ( AP, AR & General accounting) activities.
  • Process customer transactions.
  • Responsible for income reconciliations of the countries as per the agreed process and any open items / risks are highlighted to develop mitigation plans
  • Perform PO creation activities using the requests received from countries
  • Provide input to process improvement opportunity identification and analysis
  • Support Process SMEs and Team Lead with data/ information whenever required.

 

Education: Commerce Graduate

 

Role-Specific Knowledge and Experience: 

Significant experience in handling related to specific responsible areas and capable of

delivery as per agreed service levels.

 

Minimum/Essential:  

  • Financial accounting skills
  • SAP Experience
  • Communication Skills
  • PR to PO creation experience or basic knowledge.
  • Reconciliation Knowledge & experience.
  • FCCF controls.
