Position Summary
The Lift Maintenance Supervisor has direct operational responsibility for lift maintenance and electrical, including facility and utility electrical and lift public safety, as well as being proficient in documentation, and department structuring.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties
- Manage a 4-5 man crew, year round, to maintain 3 chairlifts and 2 conveyors
- Provide accurate and up-to-date record keeping and inspection reports of all completed maintenance
- Closely monitor lifts on a daily basis
- Complete bi-monthly wire rope inspections
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance functions
- Prepare assigned lifts for annual licensing inspections
- Annual and long term budgeting for all parts and maintenance
- Train new Lift Maintenance personnel
- Interact with the lift operations staff and assist with lift operations training
- Locate, properly use and care for all Lift Department tools and machinery, including skis, snowmobiles and trucks
- Troubleshoot problems in control circuits
- Comply with state and local electrical codes
- Know, understand and comply with all C.P.T.S.B. and A.N.S.I. codes and regulations
- Assure that safety practices are followed
- Participate in weekly safety meetings
- Enforce company safety and risk management policies and procedures
- Operates tools and equipment necessary to do the job in accordance with company safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be an excellent record keeper and possess strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to handle stressful and noisy situations.
- Possess a basic understanding of computers.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Able to work independently as well as being an integral part of the Lift Maintenance team
- Must maintain a flexible schedule that allows for working evenings, weekends and holidays
- Safety focus in all aspects of job
- Professional, positive attitude in all interaction
Physical Requirments
- Must be able to:
- safely climb and descend stairs and ladders throughout the workday
- safely navigate wet, slippery and uneven terrain
- comfortably work at heights in excess of 10 feet for long periods of time
- tolerate working in adverse weather conditions and temperature extremes
- stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- bend, stoop, reach, push, pull
- lift a minimum of 60 pounds
Certifications/Licenses/Training
- Current unrestricted driver’s License
- All Safety Training related to position, including company-wide safety process and procedures
Work Environment
Work alone or with others, both indoors and outdoors. This position is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice and freezing temperatures, sometimes below zero) and high altitudes (above 8200+ feet). Navigate deep snow, icy, uneven and rocky terrain.
