2026 Medical-Surgical Graduate Program (Registered Nurse)

We have an excellent opportunity to join St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) as a Registered Nurse within our Medical and Surgical Departments.

  • 0.8FTE permanent position
  • Rostering includes public holidays, weekends, and rotating day/evening/night shifts  
  • Program delivered February to December 2026, commencing Monday 2nd February 2026

GRADUATE INFORMATION SESSION:

An Information Session about the Graduate Programs offered at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba will be held between 1530 - 1630hrs on Tuesday 9th September 2025 in the ACU Room within the Clinical School, L2 (Entrance 4).

During this session, the Staff Learning & Development Manager and Clinical Nurse Educators responsible for the Medical-Surgical Graduate Program will be available to discuss the content of the programs as well as answer any questions you may have.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology, and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

  • Availability for face-to-face interview on-site on Tuesday 7th October 2025

  • Describe your interest in Medical/Surgical nursing and in joining this Graduate program

  • Outline the strategies you will implement to manage shiftwork and the theoretical components of this program that have been created to support the learning practitioner.

2.CV – including:

  • passport sized photo

  • current contact details, including residential address

  • the details of at least two (2) clinical referees who are aware and willing to be contacted to provide a reference (your referee's must be either a clinical teacher, preceptor, or other senior nurse that you have reported to at a clinical placement)

  • copy of current drivers' licence or passport

Accompanying documentation must include:

  • APHRA Registration certificate or indication of eligibility for registration as a Registered nurse with the Nurses and Midwives board (AHPRA) before Monday 2nd February 2026.  

  • Eligibility to work in Australia with VISA evidence supplied

  • Academic transcript

  • Two relevant and recent clinical assessment reports

  • Completed Position Description document, ensuring Inherent Requirements of the Role has been signed
