Purpose of Role: The Manufacturing Manager ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) rules and regulations; executes quality, and production targets using continuous improvement, process management, and PDCA to uncover issues and drive improvement throughout multiple input/output operations in the Heat Treat and Overlay Department(s); focused on providing quality to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety Culture.
  • Implement cost reduction measures, which will support department, plant and corporate goals and commitments.  Assure department financial performance supports plant budgets.
  • Assure individual and department performance supports quality and customer commitments.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with site management, peers and external stakeholders Manage multiple projects in a timely manner while insuring safety, cost effectiveness and proper resource allocation
  • Manage vendors and contractors hired to support melting operations
  • Develop direct reports and build technical skills appropriate to the functional responsibilities and expectations of succession planning initiatives.
  • Build organizational capability in the application of lean tools specifically 6S, Process Management, TPMs, standardized work, and rapid cycle improvements

Job Knowledge/Experience:

  • Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement and related activities
  • Positive and effective communication and collaboration skills
  • High energy/highly motivated with strong external and internal customer focus
  • Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with various team members

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Management or Business (or combination of equivalent education and experience).
  • At least 5 experience in related operations, logistics, procurement or heavy equipment manufacturing is required.
  • Experience managing direct reports including hiring, developing, and building technical capabilities to ensure ESCO's succession planning initiatives are met.
  • Strong systematic problem solving and analytical capabilities, including ability to perform financial analysis.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Large ERP Systems is a plus.
