TITLE: Part-time Elementary Math and Reading Interventionist

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Valid state teaching certification (with appropriate endorsements in Elementary Education or Reading/Math Specialist)
  • Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level
  • Strong understanding of reading and math development, as well as intervention strategies and programs
  • Experience using assessment tools such as i-Ready, F and P, or other relevant benchmarks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and data analysis skills

REPORTS TO: Principal / Instructional Coach

 

JOB GOALS: The Part-Time Math and Reading Interventionist supports elementary students who are performing below grade level in reading and/or mathematics. This position focuses on delivering targeted, small-group or one-on-one instruction to help close academic gaps and support student success. The interventionist collaborates with teachers and staff to implement effective, data-driven interventions.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide small group or individual instruction in reading and/or math, based on student needs.
  • Use student performance data (screeners, classroom assessments, progress monitoring tools) to identify needs and monitor growth.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional staff to align interventions with classroom instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention strategies.
  • Communicate with teachers and administrators regarding student growth and instructional plans.
  • Follow a part-time schedule set in coordination with school leadership.

TERMS:

  • Part-time, [e.g., 2–3 days/week or 10–15 hours/week, depending on funding and need]
  • Schedule to be determined in collaboration with school administration.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in compliance with the Board’s policy on evaluation and professional personnel.
