JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance of all Eastside Catholic School property, under the direction of the Facility Manager. This position is responsible for conducting daily maintenance, troubleshooting, facility inspections, room setups and other activities to ensure safe and secure physical environment required for school activities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and routine maintenance, ranging from light bulb checks to mechanical equipment inspection and repair
- Coordinate vendors/contractors for issues that are not able to be addressed in-house and annual maintenance on equipment
- Maintain the day-to-day quality appearance of the property (on a proactive/reactive basis).
- Demonstrate knowledge of security and emergency procedures, and equipment and a willingness to share responsibility for 24-hour emergency on-call and response duties
- Monitor the facility ticketing systems to ensure work orders are being completed correctly and on time.
- Coordinate and complete building and mechanical preventative maintenance inspections; complete monthly safety inspections at all sites
- Demonstrate a high degree of knowledge in construction, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, blueprint reading and landscape maintenance
- Demonstrate technical ability and troubleshooting skills
- Use problem-solving techniques continuously to accomplish work orders and all other projects
- Practice personal time management to accomplish multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn continuously through formal and informal training
- Assist the Facilities Team and other groups with room setups and at company events; assist in furniture reconfigurations and moves as needed
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors, contractors, municipal authorities and departmental supervisors, faculty and staff
- Responsible for scheduling vendors and contractors
- Stock and re-order supplies to ensure that required materials are on hand
- Work on various small projects as assigned by the Facility Manager
Requirements
- Possess a service-oriented attitude and maintain a professional appearance
- Basic maintenance skills such as electrical fixture replacement, plumbing repairs, mechanical systems and the ability to read blueprints and plans
- Experience maintaining HVAC systems preferred
- Familiarity with large air handler systems and small motors
- Experience in modern facilities environment and electronic building systems a plus
- Ability to lift or move heavy or awkward equipment and objects
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch and climb stairs, and move boxes, supplies and furniture
- Available for occasional evening and weekend activities
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Experience with computer applications and other building automation systems and controls
- Ability to operate equipment, such as tractor, scraper and sanding truck
Education and experience
- High school education or equivalent
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Level 4 Boiler Operator and/or Refrigerator Operator’s license preferred
