Overview:
Analyze and manage risk management issues by identifying, measuring, and making decisions on operational or enterprise risks for an organization. As a Advisor, Risk Management, you will manage APLL’s US Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, General Liability, and International Cargo Liability claims management programs. This role ensures timely, accurate, cost-effective claims handling while safeguarding company assets and supporting operational resilience.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end claims processes for multiple lines of coverage
- Oversee TPAs, adjusters, and legal counsel to ensure fair and efficient claim resolution
- Collaborate with HR to manage the return to work program
- Manage cargo liability subrogation claims
- Periodic claim and financial reporting in support of Captive Insurance Company
- Conduct investigations, analyze claims data, and identify trends for loss prevention
- Prepare and present claims reports and KPIs to senior leadership
- Direct litigation strategy and manage settlement negotiations
- Collaborate with Risk Management, Safety, and Operations teams to reduce exposure
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- - Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, or related field preferred
- - 5+ years in claims management (experience with Workers’ Comp, Auto Liability & Cargo Liability required) preferred
- - Logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience preferred
- - AIC, ARM, CPCU preferred but not required
- - Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills; proficiency in using RMIS tools such as Origami and TPA/Carrier claim management systems, and MS Office
Candidates must be within 250 miles of an APL Logistics facility or office.
The typical starting salary range for this position is: $120,000 - $132,000.
The actual salary offer will take into account multiple factors including skills, experience, and location. Please note that the salary details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only, not total compensation, which includes bonus and benefits.
