At Airgas, the Distribution Manager is responsible for maximizing the safe, effective and efficient distribution of product and management of the driving team within a territory. This includes delivery order management and shipment routing (inter-company shuttles, trailer, and bulk deliveries), fleet maintenance, record keeping and compliance and overall training and effectiveness of the driving team.
You will also supervise and coordinate activities of CDL Drivers engaged in transporting products by use of industrial trucks.
JOB DUTIES:
Directly supervise drivers providing leadership regarding safe work habits. Manage the availability of drivers and equipment, including all vehicle maintenance requirements, to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet distribution/customer needs.
Maintain all required D.O.T. inspection reports and manifests, verify and release tickets, and any additional documentation needed in the supervision of branch drivers.
Drive continuous improvement in daily distribution operations.
Review and process daily all Department of Transportation (DOT) documentation; vehicle condition reports and drivers hours of service, route efficiency, and completion.
Submit all required D.O.T. paperwork (hours of service logs, manifests, VIRs, etc.) and additional reports in an accurate and timely manner to the appropriate individuals.
Prepare load sheets, delivery tickets, and manifests and highlight any critical customer requirements. Ensure loads are accurate and complete.
Serve as a liaison between distribution and sales.
Plan delivery by organizing truck loads and routing schedules. Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
Establish or adjust work schedules and procedures to meet delivery schedules.

Are you a MATCH?
3 - 5 years experience routing deliveries and supervising CDL Drivers.
Knowledge of shipping of hazardous materials within DOT and FDA Requirements.
Self-starter, self-motivated, independent, well-organized with attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with others in favorable and unfavorable situations regardless of status or position. Accepts cultural diversity and establishes effective working relationships.
Strong analytical skills with competency for understanding metrics and ability to present and communicate to all levels of the organization and external customers.
Must have leadership skills to use available resources for goal accomplishment; establish appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish specific goals; develop evaluation criteria and tracking systems for monitoring goal progress and accomplishment; and specify objectives, schedules, and priorities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated leadership experience in a distribution environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of FMCSA and CDL/DOT Regulations.
Ability to regularly lift 60 pounds and/or move more than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Forklift experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
TX Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement and valid Medical Examiner's Card is preferred.
