The Director, Terminal Projects is responsible for managing capital and expense projects for the Terminals Business Unit, overseeing all phases from permitting through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives, while coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive project success.

“Gauges” of Responsibility

  • Responsible for coordinating the permitting process through completion (all project permits).
  • Responsible for managing capital and expense projects on behalf of Terminals BU.
  • Accountability to schedule and budget on all projects.
  • Provide regular reporting to necessary stakeholders regarding project performance.
  • Implement and own project development process from budgetary approval to final implementation.
  • Manage the Project Execution Leads to facilitate execution of projects by region.
  • Work cross-functionally with shared services and enterprise support groups to drive projects including EHS, permits processing and internal/external communications.
  • Manage multiple projects at once with varying degrees of priority.
  • Utilize approved vendor / supplier lists and create procurement strategy and process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of permitting process.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Relationship and negotiation ability with contractors and suppliers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to varying levels of leadership.
  • Ability to detect leading indicators before issues arise; forecasting capability and reactive.
  • Courage to report unfavorable or damaging information in honest, upfront manner.
  • Highly competent in operations including technical expertise.
  • Basic financial acumen.
