🔎 What You’ll Do:

The Medical Assistant position is responsible for coordinating and assisting the provider to ensure safe quality/cost-effective service and care for the people within the practice population. This position will also be responsible for providing technical clinical services and clerical support for the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, a physician, or a mid-level practitioner.

🔎 Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects patient assessment data to include height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint/symptoms, and current medications for assessment by licensed staff.
  • Prepares the patient for provider evaluation by obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, listing medications, and assisting during exams and procedures.
  • Maintains work area, exam treatment, and lab in a clean, safe manner; restock with supplies as needed.
  • Assists with lab procedures by collecting urine specimens, collecting, and preparing blood samples for reference lab; labeling all specimens with accurate patient ID as ordered by the physician.
  • Documents patient information in the medical record to include updated treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns, etc.
  • Assists and processes all scripts, referrals, and authorizations as needed. 
  • Manages flow of patient care, while ensuring phones are being answered, and appointments are as efficient as possible. 
  • Schedules patients for injections and infusions.
  • Orders supplies and medications.  Check both into and out of inventory.
  • Performs diagnostic testing procedures.
  • Assists with other medical office functions as needed.
  • Individual duties may vary depending on the workflow and work volume in the office.

🕒 Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with business needs.  


 
📋 Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
Certifications: BLS/CPR required upon hire
Preferred: Current MA certification and 1+ year of clinic experience
Soft Skills: Reliable, team player, detail-focused, and tech-savvy

Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little to no assistance.

🔍 Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This role operates in an office setting, requiring frequent standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
