Mercy Home for Children is a nonprofit agency located in the heart of Brooklyn NY. We provide comprehensive care to the special needs population. We are looking to hire a Development & Events Coordinator with skills of creativity & initiative to make things happen in the world of development. This valuable team player will report to the Director of Development and should be knowledgeable of Network for Good or other fundraising software, as well as be comfortable with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree (preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years of administrative experience is required
- Experience in planning & coordinating (virtual/in-person) events & online auctions, preferably for a nonprofit agency
- Assist in the coordination of fundraising and cultivation events as planned for the year
- Co-Coordinate invitation production via email or USPS mailing; Manage RSVP database
- Place follow-up solicitation calls to table and or ticket buyers if needed
- Draft solicitation letters to vendors, donors, and related correspondence
- Work with Director of Development and finance staff to produce financial reports
- Maintain and manage event and development databases
- Manage and solicit auction and raffle donations as needed for special events and other activities
- Produce and provide an evaluative progress report for each event
- Execute donor and prospect communications as planned for the year, which may include mail appeals, e-appeals, e-newsletters, internal newsletters, annual reports, e-blasts, etc. Serve as production manager for the mail appeal program
- Produce lists and work with the Development team to decide target audiences under the guidance of the Development Director
- Provide analysis and evaluation of the appeal program
- Solely responsible for recording data in the moves management system
- Draft, prepare and send acknowledgment letters to individual and special event donors
- Draft reports and analysis to prepare for donor meetings
- Have a clear understanding of Mercy Home’s mission and the ability to articulate the mission to guests and potential donors
- Serve as lead staff managing the donor software program; Conduct gift-tracking and draft donor acknowledgment letters; Ensure timely and accurate record-keeping of contributions
- Must be available for off hours events, weekends & holidays
- NYS Driver's license is required
- Other duties as assigned.
