Job Qualifications
Education: High school or equivalent. General experience: Six months general experience. Specialized experience: Six months of specialized experience in some type of crafts/maintenance work. Knowledge in the use of various trade tools desirable. Other: As determined by the supervisor. Any person involved with servicing stationary refrigerant systems must be certified by an EPA approved testing program and maintain certification as a Type I & II Technician as required by EPA'S Final Rule 608 (40 CFR, Part 82, Subpart I). Additionally, those individuals who work with low pressure systems (chillers) will also maintain the Type III certification. certification as a "Universal Technician" (Certified as Type I, II and III) is preferred but not mandatory unless work involves low pressure systems. Application at overseas locations will be in accordance with requirements of host country/installation engineers.

Major Duties
Maintains tools and holds materials in place. Pulls wire through partitions, holds pipe or wires in place, mixes mortar, cuts lumber to required lengths, nails, planes, makes crate and boxes, replaces screen doors and window screens, repairs loading platforms or floors, mixes paint according to instructions, assists in painting the interior and exterior of facilities, and performs other similar tasks.
Uses simple hand tools such as saws, planes, hammers, wrenches, pliers, and brushes.
Cleans work areas and maintains tools and equipment.
As required, performs TDY travel of one or more days duration to other Exchange locations to accomplish repair and maintenance work.
May operate a motor vehicle to transport material and associates when required.
Occasionally performs more difficult work under close supervision.
Ensures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, and security regulations. Initiates work orders for repair and maintenance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
