IT Network Manager
Reports to: Technology Director

Primary Purpose:
Administer and operate the district's computer networks. See Major Responsibilities and Duties
Education/Experience Preferred
· Associates degree
· 2+ years of experience managing networks
· K-12 Experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
· Diagnose hardware and software problems, and implement solution.
· Maintain/Design computer networks, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, network switches, network access points, and all other technology hardware/software
· Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
· Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
· Maintain printers and related hardware, as well as escalate printer malfunctions to vendor.
· Create and maintain images for PC deployment. Deploy PC’s
· Respond and resolve trouble tickets in the helpdesk system.
· Research new software as needed by teachers and administrators.
· Manage/Maintain Active Directory
· Monitor system logs for errors and failures.
· Monitor content filter for unauthorized or inappropriate use of the Internet.
· Secure network by monitoring, controlling and evaluating traffic.
· Secure and optimize network hardware with updates.
· Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting network problems.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; regular kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders
Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over)
Environment: Work is performed in an office environment; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional districtwide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; emotional control under stress
