Position Summary
Coordinates admission to Courtyard of Natchitoches related to financial obligation of patients and their families.
Primary Responsibilities

- Address residents' and families with concerns about their accounts
- Assist with Medicaid applications
- Assist with Medicaid renewals applications
- Update Medicare and Medicaid rates in EMR system
- Works with residents and/or families to ensure Medicaid payment for room and board.
- Assist with billing concerns
- Generates and mails statements
- Receives payments from residents and families
- Processing payments and refunds
- Weekly Bank deposits and cashing checks
- Researching account issues
- Communicate with residents/families about past due balances
- Obtain authorization from Commercial Payers for SNF Patients
- Bill residents for room and board, bill Medicare/Medicaid/HMOs/Managed Care, get insurance authorizations for admissions.
- Maintain resident fund account
- Assist Residents in paying bills from fund account
- Hand deliver Resident monthly Allowance
- Responsible for month end reports for Courtyard of Natchitoches AR monthly meeting
- Open and disperse incoming mail
- Assist Social Worker with Admission Process as needed
Competencies
- Ability to communicate well with people, one-on-one, both in person and on the telephone.
- Knowledge of communication equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of Patient Accounting systems.
- Ability to hear, speak, read, understand, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Knowledge of government regulations and admission requirements on the federal, state, and local levels.
- Ability to adhere to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact with all customers (co-workers, patients, families, physicians, vendors, etc.) of NRMC with hospitality and the highest standards of customer service, exhibiting professionalism and a spirit of teamwork. Each associate should have an understanding that he or she represents NRMC and should act accordingly and in a manner that demonstrates respect and pride for this organization.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
