Description
CPC is seeking candidates for our Nutrition Assistant centered position in the Women's, Infant & Children's (WIC) program. This role provides essential services to WIC participants by conducting nutrition education appointments and supporting overall health and wellness. In addition to delivering high-quality nutrition guidance, the position facilitates referrals to appropriate health and social service resources and assists in determining participant eligibility in accordance with program guidelines.
While the primary service area is York City, the role may also include assignments at surrounding York County clinics based on program needs. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact in the community through direct engagement and support.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver personalized nutrition counseling and provide comprehensive information on available health services to support participant well-being.
- Ensure full compliance with local agency standards for documenting nutrition education services in participant records.
- Actively promote and support breastfeeding initiatives among WIC participants, fostering a positive and informed environment.
- Conduct anthropometric and hematological assessments following required training and accurately evaluate collected data.
- Assess applicant eligibility in accordance with state and federal regulations, maintaining integrity and consistency in program access.
- Travel to satellite clinic locations to perform nutritionist assistant duties, ensuring consistent service delivery across sites.
- Engage in team meetings and participate in continuing education opportunities relevant to assigned responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and adaptability of the program.
- Successful completion of all required background checks, physical, and TB test.
- Regular and timely attendance is essential.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates with at least six months of relevant experience in nutrition or those who have successfully completed an approved college-level course in nutrition or dietetics will be given preference. Prior experience working with the WIC program is desirable.
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required to effectively serve a diverse participant population.
- Transportation and Flexibility: Must be able to travel to satellite clinic locations as needed. Reliable transportation is required for travel throughout York County.
- Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to respond positively to change and perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.
