Location: Oncology office located in Buffalo General Hospital, but someone who doesn't mind traveling to other offices is preferred.
Position Type: Full-time, Day-Shift Monday-Friday

What you will be doing: The primary purpose of this position is to support the development and growth of the lung cancer screening program through outreach, patient coordination, and logistics, ensuring smooth access to care in collaboration with providers, imaging centers, and clinical staff.
Conduct outreach to primary care offices and other referring practices to identify and engage eligible patients (typically those with a smoking history who meet lung screening criteria)
Coordinate and schedule low-dose CT screening days in partnership with imaging centers
Support shared decision-making visits with APPs and connect patients to smoking cessation resources
Monitor and track patients with pulmonary nodules to ensure timely follow-up and continuity of care
Upload patient data, send results letters, and manage communication related to screening outcomes
Maintain organized systems to ensure annual re-screenings and follow-up appointments are completed
Help develop workflows and best practices as part of a start-up, research-informed program
Occasionally support on-site operations at partnering Oncology offices
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with referring providers and imaging centers
Deliver exemplary customer service to ensure a positive patient experience across the organization
Perform other duties as assigned by management
The education and experience you need:
Education (Minimum Needed): Associate’s degree in a related field (Health Administration, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or similar) – Required
Experience (Minimum Needed): Experience in patient care coordination, healthcare administration, or a related clinical support role
Specialized Knowledge Needed for Performance of Job: Knowledge of EPIC or other electronic medical records (EMR) – Strongly Preferred
Special Skills: Ability to multi-task, Strong organizational and communication skills, Proficient in data entry and keyboarding
Other:
Background in research coordination or experience in a research-driven environment – Preferred
Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping build and grow a new healthcare program – Preferred
Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments
Knowledge of lung cancer screening guidelines and/or smoking cessation programs – Preferred
