About the Role

As a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) at Aspen Trace, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the management of medication schedules, ensuring that each resident receives their prescribed medications in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for monitoring residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications, providing essential feedback to nursing staff. This position requires a compassionate approach, as you will be interacting with residents daily, fostering a supportive and caring environment. Ultimately, your work will contribute significantly to the overall health and well-being of our residents, enhancing their quality of life.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to residents as per physician's orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records.
  • Assist in the organization and management of medication supplies and inventory.
  • Provide support and education to residents and their families regarding medication management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) in the state of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with elderly populations or individuals with disabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication management.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
