Job Title: Saw Operator

About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our team in Ashland, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience operating saws and cutting equipment in a fabrication or metalworking environment, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.


Responsibilities
  • Operate band saws and other cutting equipment to cut structural steel to required lengths and angles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists to ensure accurate cuts.
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, squares, and precision measuring tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
  • Handle and stage heavy steel materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following company safety policies.
  • Communicate with supervisors and fabricators to meet production deadlines.
  • Assist with loading/unloading steel and other general shop duties as needed.


    • Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating saws or cutting equipment in a fabrication or metalworking shop preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, cut lists, and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Strong math skills and proficiency with measuring tools.
  • Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging a plus.
  • Safety-conscious with reliable attendance and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
