GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and organizes the provision of nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation in the Cardiac Rehabilitation department. Monitors patients during exercise, both in the gym and during stress testing, with the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the patient’s condition. Nursing responsibilities focus on the preventative and restorative healthcare needs of the cardiovascular patient. Provides patients with education on disease entities, cardiac risk factors and behavior modification. Communicates with the Director of Specialty Therapy and the patient’s physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including laboratory tests and symptomatology. Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse. ACLS Certification required within 6 months of hire
Must have strong problem-solving, organizational, and good communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others.
Knowledge of basic ECG interpretation is necessary. Basic computer knowledge.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in cardiac rehab. Including cardiac stress testing preferred.
