Job Description:
Position: Compliance and Student-Athlete Services Graduate Assistant
Compensation: $12,000 annual stipend plus 18 credits per academic year
Reports to: Sara Richwine, Senior Associate Athletics Director, Compliance & Governance
General position summary: Serve as a member of the compliance staff. This individual is expected to exhibit high integrity, confidentiality and ethical behavior in accordance to NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules.
The position is renewable for a second year by mutual agreement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Associate AD for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services in all activities necessary to ensure compliance with NCAA rules, regulations and bylaws
- Utilize ARMS to monitor recruiting activities and countable athletically related activities
- Understand NCAA, conference and institutional regulations
- Assist in creating rules education materials for coaches, staff, student-athletes and representatives of athletics interest
- Assist with the National Letter of Intent program
- Review amateurism and Name, Image, and Likeness usage by student-athletes
- Assist with administrative work (e.g. filing, writing meeting minutes)
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a Fairfield University graduate program. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and proficiency with NCAA databases and recruiting software; Previous NCAA compliance/student services experience.
This position is based at Fairfield University’s Fairfield, CT campus and is not eligible for immigration assistance.
