About this Position
Bridgeway is seeking a strategic, analytical, and data-driven leader to serve as our Director of Pricing. In this role, you will own the development and execution of Bridgeway’s pricing strategy and lead our customer bid response process.
You will oversee the creation and management of pricing processes for both asset-based fleet operations and brokerage transportation services, ensuring we deliver profitable, competitive, and winning proposals. This includes preparing accurate and timely quotes for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as well as spot freight opportunities.
Your work will involve analyzing market trends, operational costs, and competitive conditions to develop smart pricing strategies that balance growth and profitability. You will collaborate closely with sales, operations, and carrier sourcing teams—both within Bridgeway’s brokerage division and across a network of independent, affiliated freight agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pricing Strategy & Optimization
- Develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness for both contract and spot freight opportunities
- Establish and maintain pricing models, rate trending and costing tools used by brokers and independent freight agencies within the Bridgeway network
- Ensure alignment of pricing with capacity, backhaul opportunities, and operational efficiency
- RFP & Bid Response Leadership
- Lead pricing response for large-scale customer freight RFPs, from initial analysis through final submission
- Collaborate with sales, carrier sourcing and operations to ensure competitive and executable pricing solutions for both brokerage and asset-based models
- Coordinate timelines and deliverables to meet required customer submission deadlines
- Participate in the development of RFP executive summaries and customer quarterly business reviews
- Market Analysis & Intelligence
- Monitor freight market trends, competitive rate movements, fuel impacts and lane-specific dynamics to guide pricing decisions
- Utilize data analytics, freight indices, and historical lane performance to inform decision-making
- Service Management
- Develop RFP pricing as a service offering available to Bridgeway’s independent freight agency network
- Establish and grow a high-performing pricing team to support RFP services
- Partner with IT to integrate pricing tools and services into Bridgeway’s Transportation Management System (TMS) to deliver pricing capabilities within existing system workflows
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics or related field
- 5+ years of experience in transportation pricing
- Proven track record managing pricing for both asset-based trucking operations and freight brokerage services preferred
- Prior experience in launching and managing a commercialized pricing service preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Deep knowledge of freight transportation markets, rate structures, and cost drivers
- Exceptional analytical and financial modelling skills. Including expert excel skills.
- Proficiency with freight rating tools, load boards, and TMS platforms
- Ability to synthesize market data into practical, competitive pricing strategies
- Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional alignment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
