Overview

The Senior Manager, Data Governance and Operations, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Data, is responsible for leading the Data Governance and Data Operation functions within Angle Auto Finance.  This role will work closely with the Enterprise Data team, the broader IT group, and the other business units to deliver the data capabilities that are required for Angle Auto Finance to achieve its business objectives.

Core responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate the Data Governance Framework covering key areas such as Data Quality, Data Classification, Data Compliance and Regulatory Control, and Metadata Management.

  • Design, implement, and operate the Data Operations Framework together with the Enterprise Data team.

  • Champion the implementation of key Data Governance related initiatives including the Consumer Data Right (CDR) capabilities

  • Liaises with employees, leaders & senior IT leaders as well as internal clients. 

  • Develops productive relationships with industry suppliers.

  • Demonstrates expertise in production scheduling & rostering. 

  • Prepares departmental budgets & forecasts & reports on variances. 

  • Coordinates updating/introduction of new services & systems software. 

  • Plans and takes action with discretion to ensure daily testing / reporting is completed on schedule. 

  • The ability to plan and meet deadlines, at times in a high pressure environment. 

  • Capacity to resolve day to day issues independently. 

Analysis / Problem Solving / Innovation 

  • Applies analytical skill & conceptual thinking to operations & system planning. 

  • Eye for detail and able to move through stages of a test process which at times may require refining the test process or scripts, or possibly even “regrouping” and changing the focus of the test cycle. 

Service Delivery  

  • Demonstrates high regard for needs of customers & empathy with their reliance on systems & equipment. 

  • Assesses customers needs & translates into appropriate services. 

  • Solves client issues quickly and efficiently. 

Teamwork 

  • Sets team structure & facilitates resources & training. 

  • Demonstrates a professional approach and attitude. 

 

Leadership 

  • Supervises operations teams &/or specialists/managers & sustains commitment to operating deadlines. 

  • Ensures specialist skills of teams are enhanced. 

  • Provides direction and creates an environment for teamwork.

  • Business Unit heads

  • Reporting and Analytical teams

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications

  • Relevant business, quantitative or IT related degree or certifications will be an advantage

Experience

  • Broad experience in Data Management functions, including Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Data Lifecycle Management, Document and Records Management, etc.

  • Experience within financial services will be an advantage

  • Direct experience setting up and implementing a Data Governance function

  • Demonstrated ability to align and influence resources, including those from other reporting lines, senior stakeholders and external partners

  • Knowledge of global industry best practices for Data Management

  • Good understanding of data and analytics related regulatory requirements and challenges, ideally within financial services

  • Experience in implementing Consumer Data Right (CDR) is highly desirable
