Position Summary
The Senior Test Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced test solutions for high-reliability electronic components, semiconductors, and circuit card assemblies. A critical focus of this role is developing and maintaining test programs on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), specifically the Advantest Verigy 93000 platform or equivalent ATE systems, as well as designing and executing bench-level test solutions.
This role requires comprehensive expertise in circuitry, DC/AC test methodologies, vector generation/translation, debug/diagnostics, and data processing. The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for both ATE-based automated testing and bench-based instrumentation testing, with leadership responsibilities in project execution, team mentoring, and customer-facing engagements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, write, and debug ATE test programs on Advantest Verigy 93000 or equivalent platforms, including vector generation, conversion, and translation.
• Perform DC, AC, and functional testing of semiconductors and electronic devices.
• Design and implement bench test instrumentation setups (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, network analyzers, etc.).
• Develop rack-and-stack instrumentation systems for customized test flows.
• Design and validate test fixtures for bench testing, ensuring proper electrical interface and measurement accuracy.
• Implement data acquisition systems and develop processes for test data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Drive data processing and test result analysis, providing root cause analysis and customer-facing recommendations.
• Develop test methodologies for discretes, passives, op-amps, bipolar devices, mixed-signal devices, and memory components.
• Lead debug and diagnostics of functional failures during in-process and validation testing.
• Mentor and train test engineers and technicians on both ATE and bench testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing to ensure test methods integrate into the product lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and MIL-STD standards while driving continuous improvements in test coverage, throughput, and reliability.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in semiconductor/electronics testing with proven ATE program development expertise.
• Hands-on experience with Advantest Verigy 93000 or equivalent ATE platforms.
• Strong background in bench-level testing, rack-and-stack setups, and fixture design.
• Expertise in data acquisition systems, data processing, and automated test data reporting.
• Proficiency in debug/diagnostic of functional failures across device types.
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor device physics, reliability mechanisms, and MIL-STD test requirements.
• Proficiency with instrumentation including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, and environmental chambers.
• Strong project leadership, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree or certifications in semiconductor test engineering or systems testing.
• Experience leading test projects in aerospace, defense, or foundry environments.
• Proficiency with automation and scripting tools (Python, LabVIEW, C/C++).
• Familiarity with environmental/reliability standards such as JEDEC, NASA, or DoD protocols.
