DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the site principal, the School Administrative Manager is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the school site, the majority of the non-instructional operations at the school site, maintains a positive and safe campus by enforcing school expectations and policies, and acts as a liaison to parents, community and staff.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
? Provides assistance to the principal. Supports the principal’s role as instructional leader by assisting campus activities and addressing the day-to-day needs of the school, staff, students and families.
? Assists and supports teaching staff as directed by the principal.
? Assists in managing site facilities, preparing work orders for maintenance for replacement and repair of site buildings, equipment and grounds; liaison with the maintenance department.
? Supports SVUSD by recognizing student achievements, working on student success with behavior challenges, and being available for student questions and/or concerns.
? Serves as a community liaison for the site principal.
? Investigates student behavior incidents and recommends appropriate corrective actions to the principal.
? Assists in coordinating transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and special activities.
? Responds to parents and/or community concerns and complaints by using problem-solving techniques.
? Supervises noon duty supervisors.
? In coordination with the principal, may assist in the supervision of classified staff.
? Responsible for the school site safety program.
? Monitors student attendance and implements truancy improvement strategies.
? Assists in planning and providing schedules for recess, lunch, assemblies, special activities, and bells.
? Responsible for disaster preparation program which includes scheduling and conducting fire and disaster drills and maintains a current site disaster plan.
? Serves as part of the District Leadership Team and other district designated committees.
? In coordination with the principal, maintains a positive, safe learning environment for students, by enforcing the school PBIS plan.
? Promotes the District and school site by seeking out and securing positive relations with the community, businesses, parents, and students.
? May be asked to assist at other sites as needed.
? Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
? Office procedures and accounting and/or bookkeeping skills.
? Comprehensive understanding of the operation of the district and the interrelationship with the schools and community.
? Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
? Independent decision making and interpretation of policies and laws.
? PBIS/MTSS

License And Other Requirements:
? Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License and a California Department of Motor Vehicles driving record printout.
? Proof of insurability by District liability insurance carrier may be required.
Education:
High School Diploma required. AA degree or higher preferred.
Physical Demands:
? Ability to stand for long periods of time, work at a desk, conference table, etc.
? Ability to circulate for extended periods of time.
? Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation.
? Ability to push, pull, lift and carry 40 pounds.
REGULAR WORK YEAR: 12 months
