How you'll contribute
- Lead and guide the team on energy topics with analysis on the EU and national energy policies, contributing to design and implementation of Strategic Perspectives strategy on energy and working in close collaboration with partners,
- Monitoring developments, policy decisions and emerging narratives in the European energy debate, and thus acting as a source of information and updates for the team and an international communications network we work closely with,
- Update the data of the EU Gas Insight and suggest new development and/or new tools on electrification.
- Lead the drafting of well-sourced, high-level documents, for instance briefings, reports, policy recommendations, blogs, and other media interventions.
- Contribute to Strategic Perspectives’s political outreach on energy in the EU institutions as well as key national capitals, in coordination with Strategic Perspectives’ team members and Senior Fellows.
- Identify, map and contribute to stakeholder coalitions that can support sectoral electrification and/or gas phase-out initiatives, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
- Develop and grow a network of contacts on energy.
- Represent Strategic Perspectives in meetings, conferences, and forums, presenting our insights on energy policies and developments.

Our ideal candidate has
- Relevant degree/diploma level of education and at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Robust understanding and knowledge of the EU energy policy-making, including the gas and the electricity market, and recent policy developments,
- Proven track record of leading successful projects on energy and EU policies.
- Strategic thinking and ability to assess a changing political landscape, identifying the most crucial intervention points that add value to the overall discourse,
- Proven ability to conduct research independently and to summarise complex processes in an appealing way, including on EU policy making,
- Outstanding English language skills, with a track record of producing engaging communications materials; proficiency in French and German is a strong asset,
- Experience in representing an organization in meetings, public events and media,
- Motivated and proactive team-player with a passion for excellence,
- Strong time and priority management, a can-do mentality and ability to work on different topics at the same time,
- The disposition to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers,
- A commitment to an inclusive and empowering approach to facing climate change.
- You are based in Brussels or Paris (with regular presence in Brussels). We provide an office in both places. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work permits. Only candidates with the right to work in their location will be considered.
