ABOUT THE POSITION

OAM + i’move is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN)/ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)  to join our nursing team. This role is a multi-skilled, licensed, healthcare provider who is the primary point of contact between the patient and the physician. Must be compassionate yet have the ability to communicate effectively. Works in collaboration with the physician, utilizing nursing skills to assess and help develop a treatment plan for the patients. In addition to patient education, the RN/LPN also advises patients how to manage medical/orthopaedic needs, as well as providing appropriate emotional support to the patients of OAM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides education to patients regarding surgical procedures, pre-and post-operative instructions, medications, injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as appropriate exercises.
  • Compiles patient health information for pre-surgical work-up.
  • Completes surgical orders, including all pre-operative lab work, necessary specialty testing, and required specialty equipment.
  • Provides all aspects of wound care, including suture and staple removal as well as dressing changes.
  • Assists physicians with exams and minor office procedures.
  • Assist physicians with EMR needs.
  • Preparing and administering medications per physician orders.
  • Triage phone issues as needed


Requirements

  •   Skills & Competencies: Proficient computer skills, ability to multi-task; strong listening, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; people-orientated with empathy for patients; able to work independently while contributing effectively to team efforts.
  • Education & Experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an R.N. degree; current R.N. licensure; 3-5 years of clinical experience (orthopaedics preferred); CPR certification; must maintain CEU requirements as required by the nursing board
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods during clinic hours; Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 pounds.; Ability to assist with limited patient mobility or escort patients to rooms.; Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies in a clinical setting.
