As Events Assistant, you will support the City’s Special Event Coordinator through a variety of office-related functions, including but not limited to: communication outreach with permittees and other event-related vendors/clientele, perform financial invoicing and collections of various fees, scheduling and coordination of permitting review committee meetings, along with general facility management and administrative duties as necessary.
Occasionally, the Events Assistant will also assist with the coordination and activation of multiple departmental events, including outdoor live music, public art ceremonies, and various external special events throughout the city. Work will be scheduled on as needed basis and will typically occur variably on weekends during heightened special event season/s.

The physical duties of the job are walking, kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time and lifting and carrying moderate to heavy materials (up to 40lbs). This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act
This position is Non-Exempt under the FLSA guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school Diploma Or GED
- 1 year experience coordinating and working in special events and events environments.
- 1 year experience performing administrative duties in a professional office environment.
Associates or Bachelor Degree in a Cultural Arts related field
