POSITION SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for maintaining grounds across VMRC's campus as well as maintaining equipment in a safe, pleasing, and well-cared-for condition.
COMPENSATION: Based upon previous experiences and qualifications, the starting base rate of pay is $16.25 - $20.78 per hour.

SCHEDULE:
- 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday (subject to change during summer or winter months, based upon facility needs)
- 80 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
Requirements
As a condition for employment, VMRC requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. If selected for a pending job offer, the candidate will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination(s) or provide proof of prior COVID-19 vaccination(s) before the date of hire.

- High school diploma or equivalent, with three months experience in groundskeeping field preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., perform strenuous physical tasks, and work in all types of weather.
- Experience with equipment and tractor implements (experience with building/construction trades is a plus).
- Must possess a current Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record and able to drive manual transmission vehicles/equipment. Ability to obtain authorization on the VMRC Approved Drivers List.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written assignments in the English language.
- Self-motivated with ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision; be able to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.
- Strong work ethic, pleasant personality, enjoy working with people, have good manners, and interact tactfully with others.
- Fast learner with ability to work quickly and carefully in a safe manner, and motivate others to do the same.
