Job Category: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Location – North Tampa
Position Type: Full Time
Hours of Work: Monday- Friday – 8:30AM to 5PM
Travel: None – Onsite presence mandatory
Pay Range: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour dependent on experience
Job Summary:
As a telephone operator, you will be the voice and ears of our company. You will answer and direct (transfer) incoming calls. When needed, our operator takes and sends detailed messages. Scheduler/Operator will provide the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for answering the phone, greeting callers, establishing reason for calling, and resolving issue by contacting appropriate person that can help the customer.
- Ability to speak / project clearly and distinctly, and with friendly and courteous tone in both English and Spanish
- Ability to use listening skills to put callers at ease and obtain accurate and complete information
- Ability to think out-side of the box and anticipate the needs of the callers and co-workers
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple calls at one time
- Ability to stay calm and collected
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Ability to problem solve
- A professional demeanor with a willingness to help
- Experience is a fast-paced deadline-driven office
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Great communication skills – both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills that are customer service focused
- Proficient computer skills including Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel), e-mail and automated billing systems.
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copiers, etc.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma - required
- Experience in reception duties in a high-volume environment
- Healthcare industry experience - preferred
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish required

- Abilities in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.

- Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively
- Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
- Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder
- Continuous use of hands for keyboarding and data entry

- Ability to maintain work schedule and handle stamina throughout the day with workflow
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to meet deadlines, adjust to changing requirements, and stress
