Job Title: Cash Posting Specialist
Job Summary
The Cash Posting Specialist (CPS) will be responsible for incoming payments and adjustments.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for processing all incoming payments
- Transfer copay/coinsurance and deductible balances to secondary insurance or patient responsibility as appropriate
- Post contractual adjustments to patient accounts as needed
- Support Revenue Cycle Management with billing, collection, and month end activities
- Keep supervisor abreast of issues and/ or discrepancies until a resolution has been established
- Prepares statistical reports
- Works on special projects as assigned.
- Participates in department meetings and in-services as necessary
Job Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a high-volume data entry environment
- Previous experience completing account transactions in a banking environment preferred
- Experience in a long-term care setting preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- N/A
Abilities Required
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word
