Westminster College seeks a professional, detail-oriented Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the Provost and the Office of Academic Affairs. This pivotal role manages a wide range of administrative responsibilities, ensures smooth daily operations, and serves as a trusted liaison with faculty, staff, students, and senior leaders. The Executive Assistant will coordinate calendars, communications, and projects while exercising sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential matters. The successful candidate will be adaptable, organized, and committed to supporting the academic mission of the College.
The Head Competitive Cheer Coach is a full-time position, and is one of the newest offerings at Westminster College. The first competition will occur during the 2026-27 academic year, and the newly hired coach will have an entire academic year to recruit quality student-athletes for the inaugural season. The position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the competitive cheer program including coaching, recruiting, practice planning and preparation, competition scheduling, fundraising, budgetary management, academic monitoring, and other duties as assigned. The Head Competitive Cheer Coach is a facilitator for the program’s scheduling, college and community relations, and the academic achievement of the student-athletes. The position reports to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Essential Functions:

- Manages and directs the program.
- Manages all aspects of the team including, practicing, recruitment, competing and scheduling.
- Evaluates and recruits qualified student-athletes.
- Manages a fiscally sound budget.
- Monitors class schedules, grades and student-athletes academic progress.
- Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed.
- Ensures that student athletes follow a standard of conduct that aligns with the core values of the College.
- Responsible for student-athlete retention.
- Responsible for marketing and promoting of the athletic program.
- Serves as the director of program summer camps.
- Assists the administration with alumni relations.
- Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, attends department meetings and activities, and always represents the College positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and public.
- Completes other assigned administrative duties in a timely manner.
- Responsible for establishing job standards for subordinate staff and effectively evaluating staff under charge.
- Engages in regular consultation with athletic training and other sport department personnel to maximize the safety and wellness of student-athletes and demonstrates concern for the overall welfare of students at all times.
- Game management in other sports is required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Two years of demonstrated successful coaching experience at the high school or college level. Commitment to attend all scheduled practices and games. Collegiate coaching is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations. Experience contributing to campus diversity efforts.

- Ability to apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively - orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
- Ability to represent the department and College in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment.
