Position Overview: As a Venture Scout, you will play a crucial role in sourcing high-potential investment opportunities within the AI ecosystem. You will be responsible for identifying emerging startups, evaluating technology trends, building relationships with founders, and collaborating with the investment team to support the fund’s growth. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team of investors and contribute to the development of the fund's portfolio.
This is a part-time role only eligible for students actively enrolled in an undergrad, masters, or PHD program.
What you will do:
- Identify and research early-stage AI startups and innovative technology trends across various sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, accelerators, incubators, academic institutions, and other networks in the AI space.
- Attend AI-related events, meetups, and conferences to expand your network and stay updated on industry developments.
- Conduct initial due diligence on potential investment opportunities by evaluating the product, market potential, team dynamics, and technical aspects.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on your findings to the investment team, highlighting the most promising startups and technologies.
- Continuously track and analyze developments in the AI sector, including key innovations, trends, funding rounds, and exits.
- Act as a key point of contact for founders, offering guidance and support in their early-stage journey.
- Foster long-term relationships with founders that could lead to future investment opportunities.
Who you are:
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of AI technologies (such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.) and their applications in various industries.
- Network/Community Building: An interest in meeting people from various backgrounds and skillsets
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to evaluate business opportunities, assess market potential, and conduct due diligence.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in an accessible way.
- Proactive & Self-motivated: Ability to work independently and take initiative in sourcing new opportunities and building relationships.
