About the Role

Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Operations Officer I or II to join the team in our Oxnard Branch. As an Operations Officer, you will deliver a World Class Experience by providing excellent service to all internal and external customers. The position requires the ability to maximize profitability by assisting the Branch Manager (BM) with all aspects of the individual branch operation in accordance with bank policies and procedures, including customer service and satisfaction. You will assist the BM in the control of all variable expenses and be responsible for branch certifications and reviewing prescribed report of daily transactions. The Operations Officer provides scheduling and workflow prioritization and may operate as a Personal Banker as needed. You will assume responsibility for the branch, in the absence of BM, and ensure the branches stay safe, sound, and compliant. You will be located in Oxnard, CA with a fully on-site work schedule.

What We’re Looking For

Operations Officer I:

  • A high school degree required; college degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of retail branch experience with platform experience required.
  • 1-3 years of informal or formal supervisory experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of bank operations, security policies, practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of bank retail and consumer loan products.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to communicate to an audience.

Operations Officer II:

  • A high school degree required; college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of retail branch experience; platform experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of formal supervisory experience required.
  • Thorough knowledge of bank operations, security policies, practices and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of bank retail and consumer loan products.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to communicate to an audience.

Your Responsibilities

The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Review prescribed reports of daily transactions for accuracy.
  • Complete all branch certifications in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and maintain branch cash levels and supply to meet customer demands.
  • Serve as first line escalation point to address and resolve customer transactions and/or difficult customer grievances.
  • Remain current on new products, services and procedures.
  • In the absence of the Branch Manager, assume overall responsibility and accountability for branch’s adherence to sales, service and operations.
  • Complete all required training courses and ensure all direct reports complete required training.
  • Contribute to satisfactory results on all internal and external regulatory examinations, reviews, and audits.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports in support of periodic audits by financial and regulatory agencies.
