About Us

Dirigo Federal Credit Union is a profitable and fast-growing community credit union headquartered in Lewiston, Maine. We have four branches, with a fifth opening later this year, and currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head Teller in our Auburn Branch. Dirigo is a member-owned cooperative, built on relationships, trust, and service. We’re excited to bring on team members who share our passion for helping people achieve financial well-being. 


The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join us in the Head Teller role. The Head Teller helps ensure the smooth, efficient, and accurate daily operations of the branch, and answers questions and provides training for our teller team. 


Additionally, our Head Teller: 

· Processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; dispensing money orders and teller checks to members; and transferring amounts from member accounts as directed 

· Welcomes members and provides information concerning services and directing members to appropriate departments for specific information and services as needed

· Balances cash drawer and daily transactions

· Cross-sells credit union services based on member needs

· Trains and supports tellers on service, transaction processing, and credit union products and services

· Monitors teller performance, providing feedback and coaching to encourage growth and development

· Resolves complex member inquiries and transactions with professionalism and accuracy

· Supports daily cash operations, including balancing vaults, ATMs and branch cash limits

· Provides support to branch leadership in achieving operational and service goals


Knowledge, skills & abilities needed: 

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Previous banking-related experience 

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Familiarity with the use of computers and have data-entry skills

· Strong interpersonal skills, and be member-service minded

· Be dependable and punctual

· Methodical attention to detail

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
