We are currently seeking Fishing Tool Supervisors in the Appalachia Basin, based out of Bridgeport, WV and Sayre, PA.

About the Role:

The Fishing Tool Supervisor leads fishing operations, retrieving lost or stuck equipment to keep wells running efficiently and minimizing downtime. This role demands expertise in fishing tools, drilling/completion/production mechanics, and wellbore conditions, along with strong leadership and strict commitment to safety. The Supervisor plans, executes, and manages all phases of fishing operations to meet client requirements and expectations, while directing technical service activities on the wellsite.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Apply broad oilfield knowledge to plan and execute fishing operations with precision including but not limited to removing stuck pipe, debris, or broken tools from the wellbore
  • Supervise and communicate effectively with customers and crews, combining technical expertise with clear, solution-driven guidance
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, conducts safety meetings, and enforce company safety policies
  • Coordinate with and advise customers on equipment procurement, maintenance, and operational updates
  • Perform equipment maintenance and ensure all tools are ready for use
  • Prepare reports and documentation (job tickets, daily reports, safety reports)
  • Monitors and assesses inventory levels
  • Provides technical support to crew and clients at the well site; maintains communication with client wellsite representatives, rig crew, and field support staff; communicates with internal and external clients
  • Plans and coordinates operations utilizing technical expertise to determine the need, technique, and use of equipment on a well site
  • Supervises operations on well site and troubleshoots issues on well site to reduce non-productive time
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as company and industry standards
  • Prepares and delivers comprehensive job documentation
  • Continuously develops expertise on advanced techniques; participates in knowledge sharing
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors trainees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Work Experience: 4-6 years in oilfield services, relevant supervisor experience, and downhole drilling/well services (open-hole and/or cased-hole operations)
  • Knowledge and experience with downhole tools and ability to troubleshoot and repair fishing equipment. 
  • High mechanical aptitude with knowledge of motors, pumps, compressors and power swivels
  • Minimum of 2 years’ of concentrated Fishing, Thru-Tubing and related product line experience
  • Knowledge of pressure control relating to drilling, completion or production
  • Strong understanding of drilling operations, well integrity, wellbore stability
  • Strong communicate abilities that balances a sales-centric and mechanical/engineering approach
  • Performs under pressure in demanding conditions, making sound decision  
  • Physical ability to work in harsh environments and lift heavy loads.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Highschool or College Education: Highschool Diploma/Equivalent
  • Work Experience: 6-8 years
  • Supervisory Experience: 1-3 years
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite Applications

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Precise hand/eye coordination: Constantly
  • Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions: Frequently
  • Operation of heavy equipment or operation of vehicles: Frequently
