Job Summary
The Field Installer is the modular construction worker on the job site and is responsible for building the cleanroom envelopes and maintaining a clean and organized job site. Reporting to the Project Supervisor, the Field Installer conducts the day-to-day field operations. In strict adherence to safety policies and procedures, Field Installers are required to successfully complete projects within the designated schedule under the guidance of the Project Supervisor. They are accountable for delivering quality workmanship and maintaining project cleanliness. Additionally, Field Installers are responsible for collaborating with other trades and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination. Follow and update construction documents including field drawings, ASIs, RFIs, and changes.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Management
- Adheres to and promotes all company goals and objectives.
- Accountable for abiding by all safety documentation and records. Communicates safety concerns to Project Supervisor immediately.
- Communicate effectively with the other installers, trades, and managers.
- Protect and secure materials and equipment on jobsite with appropriate controls such as tarps, shelters, locks, ect.
- Cleans and sweeps the job site prior to taking a break or leaving for the day.
- Guarantee proper disposal of waste materials in designated and appropriately marked locations.
- Complete training program to qualify as the competent person on site for crisis management and first response to emergencies.
Team Management
- Motivates other employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- Accountable for maintaining the job site setup, including signage, trailer, temporary service, etc.
- Collaborate with and assist all subcontractors and trades.
- Execute daily job site clean-ups and adhere to site security controls.
- Responsible for receiving and staging materials in the appropriate secure locations.
- Assist Project Supervisor and trades in as-built updates and reports.
- Maintain professional communication with trade contractors, owners, architects, and other site visitors.
- Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations. Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas, as stated by OSHA. Protective equipment for this position may be necessary, including a hard hat, face shield, safety (hard toe) shoes, and coveralls.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Excellent with power tools and typical carpentry equipment including chop saw, forklift and scissor lift.
- Proper use of ladders, tools, and equipment for modular construction.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency by quickly adapting to innovative technology and readily acquiring new technical skills.
- Arrive at the job on time and ready to work.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of construction experience, modular construction preferred.
- Read and understand schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
- OSHA 10
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Salary is commensurate with education, years of experience, and market.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of architectural design and planning principles and procedures.
- Ability to collaborate with staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to read schematics blueprints and technical manuals.
- Technical knowledge of building components and their function.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with various constituencies.
- Skills in workflow analysis and management.
- Knowledge of building components, life cycle values, and maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
- Knowledge of procurement rules and regulations.
- Must be flexible for overnight or extended stays out of town.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
- Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.
- Moderate physical activity. It may require physical effort, including lifting up to 25 pounds and some extended periods of standing or walking.
- Heavy physical activity. It may require physical effort, including lifting up to 75 pounds and many extended periods of standing or walking.
