Job Responsibilities
- Install and assemble solar energy systems, including AC/DC wiring, racking, and electrical equipment on commercial sites.
- Lead and support electrical journeymen in daily tasks.
- Manage safety documentation, OSHA forms, and daily reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Track hours and maintain alignment with project budgets.
- Serve as the primary contact between field teams and upper management.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and safe work environment.
- Support project managers with scheduling, identify potential delays, and recommend solutions.
- Improve on-site efficiency, quality, and safety through proactive strategy adjustments.
- Coordinate tools and equipment needs for each job site.
- Mentor and develop field staff, identifying future leaders.
- Travel to job sites across Illinois (up to 100% travel). Clean MVR required.
Education & Certifications
- Journeyman card or license
- NCCER Construction Superintendent Certification (preferred).
- NABCEP PVIP (preferred).
Experience
- 5+ years as a licensed electrician or 10,000+ OJT hours.
- 3+ years as a commercial solar electrician.
- Strong background with single- and three-phase systems.
- Proficiency in Procore strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Expert knowledge of NEC and electrical installation practices.
- Ability to apply for licenses as needed in multiple jurisdictions.
- Comfortable working on rooftops and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
