As a Quality Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet and exceed industry standards, regulatory requirements, and meet customer expectations. The successful candidate will build a team of quality professionals, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems, and drive a quality-culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Position Results (Examples:  Accurate inventory reporting, Timely issue resolution, etc.)

  • Leadership: Clear and timely communication
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Successful implementation and operation of a cohesive quality management system at the local facility
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Accurate and useful system documentation, and support the control of documents as they are written and updated.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Demonstrated conformance with company policies and procedures (through training and auditing)
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control: Demonstrated continual improvement in quality
  • Customer Quality: Timely issue resolution
  • Supplier Quality: Timely issue resolution
     

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Supervising, training, and mentoring quality control staff
  • Leadership: Tracking and reporting on quality metrics including PPM metrics, analyzing data, and making recommendations for corrective or preventative action.
  • Leadership: Promote a quality culture and drive quality initiatives throughout the facility and operations
  • Leadership: Identifying areas for improvement in the quality system, inspection processes, and assembly processes.  And, implementing effective corrective actions
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Manage the internal audit schedule; lead internal audits; support 3rd party audits; communicate audit results; and ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Facilitate the creation of new documents, document reviews, document changes, and records control matrix.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Coordinate quality-related training programs to ensure that employees understand and adhere to quality standards and processes
  • Quality Assurance / Quality Control: Developing and implementing quality control policies, procedures, and testing methodologies.
  • Customer Quality: Monitor Customer Complaints, Nonconformances (NC), and Corrective Actions (CA) for completion and effectiveness
  • Customer Quality: Manage the Customer Warranty/Returns including the evaluation, rework and disposition of returned products.
  • Supplier Quality: Work closely with the procurement team to evaluate and monitor supplier performance, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality components and finished goods.
  • Supplier Quality: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.

Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis
  • Strong Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management standards
  • Strong knowledge of core auditing concepts
  • Working knowledge of PC and Windows operating system (trainable for JDE and L2L )
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of personnel and with multiple departments within the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and through written reports
  • Advanced computer skills and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage Quality records 
  • Excellent forklift/material handling skills
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Strong presentation skills

Education / Training Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business Administrations, Manufacturing Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Forklift, Order Selector, and Scissor lift certification 
  • Proven experience in quality, engineering, and distribution or manufacturing leadership role, with a track record of success in quality manufacturing or distribution operations.
  • Experience completing audits and inspections with UL, ISO, and ICC
  • Successful completion of all required Worthington Enterprises Safety Training Courses
  • Experience working with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards such as UL, ISO 9001, and ICC.
  • Prior office experience using enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) software like Oracle, SAP, or comparable in purchasing, receiving, production, or shipping
  • Bilingual Spanish and English
