- Ensure payroll accuracy through audits and reviews of reports, compensation changes, employee agreements, and leave of absence updates.
- Support compliance with all local and federal payroll regulations, including Puerto Rico DTRH, IRS, and Department of Labor laws.
- Validate time and attendance tracking in HRIS, resolving discrepancies with managers, and manage PTO, sick leave, and holiday balances in alignment with policy.
- Process wage garnishments, child support, and other mandatory deductions in accordance with applicable laws and court orders.
- Support internal and external audits, including 401(k), worker’s compensation, financial, and regulatory reviews.
- Reconcile payroll transactions to the general ledger in coordination with Finance, supporting journal entries and month-end close processes.
- Process direct deposit setup and respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Coordinate accurate and timely final pay for offboarding employees, including leave payouts in compliance with labor laws.
- Ensure accurate payroll updates related to employee changes and benefits deductions.
- Facilitate payroll-related onboarding and benefits orientation for new hires and provide training support to leaders of non-exempt employees.
- Upload and reconcile monthly stipends and taxable benefits in the payroll system, ensuring proper classification and timely processing.
- Support relocation-related payroll updates by validating tax and work location changes in collaboration with Talent Business Partners.
- Support payroll data preparation and reporting for Puerto Rico’s Ley 60 incentive program, ensuring compliance with wage reporting requirements.
- Maintain and update the annual payroll calendar and processing log, including holidays and deadlines, to ensure timely execution and internal alignment.
