Duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING/PLCYPLN) at the GG-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Developing and coordinating strategic plans and policies as the enterprise AI/ML capabilities authority for the Joint Staff Chief Digital and AI Officer (JS CDAO). Undertakes special projects and problem matters that have been referred by the JS and other DoD components. Produces strategic plans and evaluates data to make project recommendations. Analyzes, informs, or modifies specialized plans, policies, and procedures required by changing circumstances. Delivers expertise and guidance on technical architecture design and implementation for the JS and other DoD components.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GG-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 grade level in the Federal service: Understanding principles, current capabilities, practices, to include expert knowledge of novel, emergent, and theoretical areas of modern IT capabilities and issues to develop or improve programs that are innovative and/or that have previously been resistant to solutions; Applying Enterprise Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) architecture capability analysis; Understanding qualitative and/or quantitative methods to assess and improve data, analytics, and AI effectiveness and implementation while maintaining alignment with policies and procedures consistent with relevant legislation and regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
