Position Overview:
The Technical Writer will support the modernization of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) by developing, maintaining, and validating comprehensive user, business, and technical documentation. This role will collaborate with analysts, developers, and system administrators to ensure that requirements, processes, and testing procedures are clearly documented and accessible to all stakeholders.

Duties:
  • Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate business and data needs of stakeholder units.

  • Define and document business and system use cases using established methodologies.

  • Conduct interviews and workshops to gather customer requirements, using questionnaires, workflow storyboards, use cases, and scenarios.

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain user manuals, technical documentation, and procedural guides for multiple applications and the EDW.

  • Translate customer requirements into functional and technical requirements understandable to both business stakeholders and development teams.

  • Perform data analyses to assess data quality, identify duplicates or errors, and ensure data integrity and performance.

  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, wireframes, and charts to guide development teams.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute functional, performance, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, and security testing, including test plan creation, data validation, and bug root cause analysis.

  • Maintain documentation libraries, templates, and quality standards, recommending improvements to processes.

  • Organize work effectively to resolve problems proactively and provide accurate estimates for documentation requests.

  • Communicate and coordinate as a liaison between stakeholder business units and development teams.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and use Azure DevOps to manage documentation tasks.

  • Prepare and present design reports and documentation to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accessibility.

  • Track assignments, manage timelines, and provide weekly status updates and reports.

  • Work collaboratively across teams and present complex technical concepts and data to varied audiences.


Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of working knowledge with SQL Server databases, T-SQL, scripts, and queries

  • 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps and Agile/Scrum development methods

  • 5+ years of advanced, senior-level experience in defining and documenting business and system use cases using the business use case methodology

  • 5+ years of experience translating customer requirements into functional and technical requirements in a clear and understandable manner

  • 5+ years of experience eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business and data needs of stakeholder business units


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry with various health applications and datasets
