Iron Worker Job Description

Job Summary:
Level 1: Entry level iron worker or deck hand. Helps Level 2 and Level 3 iron workers as directed with steel erection, rigging, Job Site Clean Up, and general steel duties.
Level 2: Experienced iron worker with at a minimum F3/4 welding certifications and proficient connecting skills. Possesses a good understanding of the complete steel erection process. Can read and understand basic erection plans. Can assist in layout. Capable of setting up and operating a laser such as shooting grade and plumbing columns. Capable of operating Heavy equipment.
Level 3: Experienced iron worker with a minimum G3/4 welding certifications. Can read and understand plans. Can perform layout of steel members. Can set up and operate lasers such as shooting grade and plumbing columns. Possesses proficient fabrication skills. Capable of completing entire erection process with minimal supervision and can supervise others. Can operate Heavy equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma preferred.
Must have reliable transportation.
Able to work along the Wasatch front (from Brigham City UT to Springville UT and everywhere in between).
Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and continue to pass random drug tests.
Able to pass a background check.
Maintains tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Welding Certs (3F/4F SMAW preferred)
Work Hours:
8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime as necessary or until work is completed. Shifts (day, swing and night) and work assignments may vary as deemed necessary by management.
Related Safety Responsibilities:
Must become familiar and compliant with Hogan’s safety program and OSHA regulations. Must maintain fitness level sufficient to handle his/her required work load. Must become Hogan certified before operating equipment. Understands, is familiar with, and follows power tool safety requirements. Is always vigilant and aware of his/her own safety as well as the safety of those around him/her. Actively attends and participates in the Daily Production & Safety meetings each morning.
