Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Enterprise Data Solutions to lead the technical design, development, and delivery of our enterprise data and reporting platform. This role is central to building a strong data foundation that supports strategic decision-making, system integrations, and future use cases in machine learning and artificial intelligence. 

You’ll oversee our data platforms and architecture, champion data governance and quality, and partner across departments to deliver trusted, actionable insights. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends technical depth in data engineering and business intelligence with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Data Platform Leadership 

• Architect, lead, and develop the buildout of scalable, secure, and modern data architectures (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, master data management) 
• Oversee, and participate in, the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and business intelligence tools that drive visibility and decision-making 
• Enable seamless integration of data across internal platforms and third-party systems 

Data Governance & Quality 

• Define and implement data governance practices, including data ownership, cataloging, and metadata management 
• Establish and monitor data quality standards to ensure data is accurate, complete, and reliable 
• Create policies and processes that promote secure and compliant data usage including customer data privacy and protection 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, operations, and finance teams to identify data needs and deliver aligned solutions 
• Communicate data strategies, initiatives, and roadmaps to executive leadership and stakeholders 

Team Leadership 

• Build and lead a lean team of data engineers, analysts, and BI developers (internal and external) 
• Drive a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and technical excellence 

Advanced Data Capabilities 

• Lay the groundwork for future use of machine learning and artificial intelligence by building clean, well-structured, and accessible data assets 
• Partner with technology and business teams to identify and prioritize AI-ready use cases 

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics roles, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity 
• Demonstrated experience building and managing an integrated data environment using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI 
• Hands-on experience building and managing modern data software (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran, Looker, Tableau)  
• Strong background in system integration, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data pipeline development 
• Strong background in designing and developing data models for reporting and advanced analytics 
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and financial accounting with experience building reporting solutions to facilitate business performance analysis 
• Experience leveraging unstructured data and machine learning to uncover insights and facilitate business solutions 
• Experience establishing data governance and quality frameworks 
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and supporting data infrastructure 
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 
• Experience in franchising, retail, or consumer-facing industries is a plus 
• A passion for using data to solve complex business problems 
• Strategic thinking and a drive for execution 
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions 
• A collaborative and proactive mindset 

Compensation: 

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$185,000 annually, commensurate on experience. This role is bonus-eligible and is based on company and individual performance; all bonuses are subject to board and CEO approval.
