Role: Firewall & Network Security:
Location: HYD/BLR
Job Description:
● Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto NGFW (PA-Series, VM-Series, Prisma Access).
● Implement security policies, URL filtering rules, SSL decryption, and application control.
● Manage Threat Prevention, WildFire, and User-ID configurations for enhanced security.
● Perform log analysis and rule optimization to reduce false positives and improve security posture.
● Work with SIEM and security teams to investigate firewall-related alerts and security events.
Web Application Security (WAF):
● Deploy, configure, and maintain Imperva WAF to protect web applications from OWASP Top 10 threats.
● Implement custom security policies, bot mitigation, and rate-limiting rules.
● Perform web traffic analysis, fine-tune security rules, and troubleshoot WAF-related issues.
● Assist in onboarding new applications to WAF with proper security configurations.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting:
● Act as L2 escalation for firewall, URL filtering, and WAF-related incidents.
● Investigate and resolve connectivity, security rule conflicts, and performance issues.
● Collaborate with L3 engineers, SOC, and DevOps teams to address security threats.
● Document troubleshooting steps, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and lessons learned.
Compliance & Reporting:
● Ensure firewall and WAF configurations align with security best practices, regulatory standards (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks).
● Generate weekly/monthly reports on firewall/WAF security events, rule effectiveness, and policy violations.
● Assist in internal and external security audits related to firewall and WAF implementations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
● 3-5 years of experience in firewall, network security, and WAF management.
● Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto NGFW (Panorama, App-ID, User-ID, URL Filtering, SSL Decryption).
● Strong knowledge of Imperva WAF (security rules tuning, bot mitigation, DDoS protection).
● Understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, and Zero Trust Architecture.
● Experience with SIEM, log analysis, and security incident handling.
● Familiarity with security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, OWASP Top 10, NIST CSF).
