Due to internal promotion, we are looking for a commercially minded and experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead the financial strategy and performance of our operations at Port Botany Terminal.
This is an integral position, playing a vital role in driving financial performance, responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring robust governance, and delivering the insights that support sustainable growth and operational efficiency across our terminal activities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes, including executive presentations.
- Review monthly financial performance and provide analysis on variances, cashflow, and working capital.
- Provide financial analysis and build business cases to justify capital expenditure projects
- Liaise with Operations and Engineering departments to identify cost and business improvements
- Provide commercial and financial guidance to support port operations.
- Oversee monthly accounts, reconciliations, balance sheet, and year-end reporting.
- Deliver clear, concise reporting and insights to senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to shape and implement new processes and systems.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for operational and non-financial stakeholders, enabling informed, data-driven decision-making at all levels of the business.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- 5+ years’ experience in financial, commercial, or operational management roles.
- Background in the shipping, port & terminal, transport or infrastructure sectors highly desirable.
- Proven experience in building new financial structures and systems from the ground up.
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.
- Commercial acumen with a strategic mindset and strong analytical capability.
- Proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
- Experience with Oracle systems is highly desirable.
