Job Description of Storage and Backup Administratorfor Infinite Computer Solutions
Title: Storage and Backup Administrator
Experience: 3-5 Years
 Location:
Primary Skills: NetApp, Dell Compellent, Rubrik, Cisco Switches
Secondary Skills: Isilon, Brocade Switches
  • Experience in Administration and Implementation of NetApp, Dell Compellent, Isilon, Rubrik clusters
  • Experience working in large, complex, enterprise datacenter environments.
  • Experience with designing, deploying, and supporting Open Systems, Enterprise SAN and NAS solutions
  • Hands-on experience with NetApp, Dell Compellent, Isilon storage arrays and Rubrik Backup Arrays
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Switches and Brocade switches.
  • Experience installing, configuring, supporting and maintaining Enterprise Backup solutions
  • Working experience with Snapmirror, Robocopy datadobi or any other replication tools.
  • Manage Rubrik backup infrastructure, ensuring successful backup and recovery operations.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage storage technologies, SAN disaster recovery technologies, business continuity components and procedures.
  • Solves storage performance issues and handles requests through the service desk.
  • Provide guidance to storage administrators.
  • Coordinates upgrade / maintenance activities
  • Work with vendors to ensure the environment is properly implemented, configured, managed, and maintained.
  • Works with multiple teams (DBA, Servers, Networks, and applications) and Project Managers to deliver storage solutions.
  • Fine tunes and creates procedures that can be handed down to operational team members as well as create / modify Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) for change control items.
  • Strong technical written and verbal communication skills (Technical writing and Documentation of Infrastructure)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Monitor storage and backup performance, capacity, and health using appropriate tools and dashboards.
  • Implement and maintain data protection policies, including backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform regular audits and testing of backup and restore procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application and database backup requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for storage and backup configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours as needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in storage and backup technologies.
