The role:

SoFi is looking for a skilled and highly organized art director/designer to help drive a large-scale marketing asset update project. This is a contract role through mid-December, with the possibility of extension into Q1 2026.

You’ll be an integral part of a dedicated team making critical compliance-driven refreshes across multiple channels. Your focus: translate requirements into on-brand visual solutions, update existing creative at scale, and ensure a high volume of assets are production-ready, approved, and delivered on time. You’ll also jump in on net-new creative when needed. While you have the capability of creating visual solutions, you also enjoy producing and delivering assets.

You’ll partner closely with our in-house Creative Studio, project management, compliance, and channel teams to make sure nothing slips through the cracks. In short, you’ll need excellent visual judgment and extreme attention to detail.

Types of assets you’ll help update

  • Marketing emails
  • Product website landing pages
  • Paid social and digital ads
  • Space-constrained units (e.g., banners, placements with strict character/size limits)

What you’ll do:

  • Refresh and adapt designs to keep work on-brand and up to date with compliance standards, disclosures, and legal requirements.
  • Translate prescriptive change lists into thoughtful visual updates—maintain hierarchy, readability, and accessibility while meeting exact specs.
  • Create layouts and variants across breakpoints and channels; ensure consistency across systems, components, and templates.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, editors, and compliance officers to place disclosures and fine print accurately without compromising design clarity.
  • Partner with project management to hit turnaround times (sometimes tight) and keep work moving through reviews and approvals.
  • QA for pixel perfection: check spacing, typography, contrast, link states, superscript alignment, and disclosure placement across devices and file exports.
  • Prepare production-ready files (naming, versioning, export specs) and hand off cleanly to channel owners and developers.

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years designing for multiple asset types (email, web, digital, social, video/motion a plus) and working within a brand system.
  • A strong portfolio showing clear visual hierarchy, typography, and systems thinking across performance and lifecycle marketing work.
  • Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud; basic motion knowledge a plus.
  • Comfort working with compliance partners and regulated review workflows.
  • Sharp QA instincts and obsessive attention to detail.
  • Clear, proactive communicator who builds strong cross-functional relationships.
  • A practical problem solver—you don’t wait for direction when specs are ambiguous; you get the clarity needed and keep moving.
  • Ability to manage time and hit deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience working with legal disclaimers/disclosures and placing them for clarity and readability.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Fintech or Financial industry is a plus.
  • Ad agency experience is preferred.
  • Post production experience is also preferred.
